Site Specific Assessment of Training Requirements
Safety and health training is the most critical step you can take to prevent injuries and illnesses while also protecting the assets of your company. Many companies aren’t aware of the training required or the frequency, content and documentation needs or benefits of that training. A thorough training program will keep you compliant and help you to avoid citations and liability.
The first step is understanding the type of training needed for your particular facility or organization and that depends on what potential issues exist. ISPI will assess and evaluate your training needs and make recommendations to make sure you have an environmentally safe and healthy workplace that is in compliance.
Microbial Growth (mold) Awareness
When moisture problems occur and mold growth results, building occupants may begin to report odors and a variety of health problems, such as headaches, breathing difficulties, skin irritation, allergic reactions, and aggravation of asthma symptoms; all of these symptoms could potentially be associated with mold exposure. All molds have the potential to cause health effects. Molds produce allergens, irritants, and in some cases, toxins that may cause reactions in humans. The types and severity of symptoms depend, in part, on the types of mold present, the extent of an individual’s exposure, the ages of the individuals, and their existing sensitivities or allergies.

Respiratory Protection
With this program, ISPI demonstrates in an understandable and comprehensive manner, the importance of proper respiratory protection. Explicit instructions are given on how to properly don, doff and use respiratory equipment; limitations on their use and maintenance.
We will assist your organization in establishing acceptable practices for respirator use, delineation of responsibilities and provide guidance to ensure that all individuals involved are knowledgeable of the necessary procedures.
Forklift
OSHA requires formal training for the use of powered industrial trucks and forklifts. ISPI provides comprehensive training for both first time and experienced operators. This highly interactive training course provides detailed information on OSHA standards, Federal Regulation code, inspection, load handling, rated capacity, stability, and maintaining a forklift’s center of gravity. As an employer, it is your responsibility to ensure that each powered industrial truck operator is competent to operate equipment safely and to maintain a safe work atmosphere.
Lockout / Tagout
Maintenance and service on machinery and equipment that has the potential to release hazardous energy and cause injury demands the need for comprehensive, in-depth training. ISPI offers comprehensive training programs meeting OSHA standards, to provide the highest level of safety possible.
Confined Space and Confined Rescue
ISPI delivers in-depth programs that ensure your employees who enter confined spaces have the information and training required by OSHA. Our training is designed for managers, entry supervisors, entrants, attendants, and rescue team members. This training will insure your employees will be able to enter confined spaces in compliance with OSHA standards with the highest level of caution and safety.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
OSHA requires that employers must establish and administer an effective personal protective equipment (PPE) program for all employees. Instruction covers, but is not limited to: assessment of hazards in and around the workplace; identification of proper safety equipment; and how to properly fit and use safety equipment.
HAZWOPER
The OSHA HAZWOPER Standards29 CFR 1910.20 requires that employees working in and around hazardous waste have specific health and safety plans (HASP) and has competent safety officers to enforce health and safety rules. ISPI training topics for this program include HAZWOPER regulations, safety and health plans, hazardous chemicals, safety hazards, air monitoring, medical surveillance, site control, decontamination, personal protective equipment, respiratory equipment and consideration for designating health and safety officers.
24 Hour Hazmat: HAZWOPER 24-hour is required for employees visiting an Uncontrolled Hazardous Waste Operation mandated by the Government. This course covers broad issues pertaining to the hazard recognition at work sites. OSHA has developed the HAZWOPER program to protect the workers working at hazardous sites and devised extensive regulations to ensure their safety and health. This course, while identifying different types of hazards, also suggests possible precautions and protective measures to reduce or eliminate hazards at the work place.
8 Hour Refresher: This course meets the requirements outlined in OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 for 8 (eight) hours of annual refresher training for workers at hazardous waste sites. This course is designed for general site workers who remove hazardous waste or who are exposed or potentially exposed to hazardous substances or health hazards. The course is comprised of nine sections covering topics pertaining to workplace hazards associated with Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER). Topics include HAZWOPER regulations, site characterization, toxicology, hazard recognition, personal protective equipment, decontamination, medical surveillance, confined space entry and emergency procedures. Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate of completion.
Fall Protection
Employers are required to assess the workplace to determine if the walking/working surfaces on which employees are to work have the strength and structural integrity to safely support workers. Employees are not permitted to work on those surfaces until it has been determined that the surfaces have the requisite strength and structural integrity to support the workers. Conducting visual inspections for signs of mold or water damage is the first step in the process of assessing the presence of mold. When necessary, mold samples will be collected for laboratory analysis, using air, surface, or bulk samples. This process allows us to identify types of molds and propose remediation procedures.
